Voshell's Campground Trip

This past weekend our family and my cousin's family set off on our long journey (10 minutes down the road) to my uncles house for the annual Voshell's Campground vacation.  My 2 cousins and their families have been doing this for a couple of years but this was our first time officially participating since we just got our camper a little while ago.

We had SO much fun!  It was a lot of hanging around, running our mouths (which we do SO well), watching the kids run constantly all day, eating yummy foods, and enjoying the campfire!

The first full day we were there it was raining off and on. Even though I would have preferred sunshine, we still had fun playing outside when the sun was out and playing inside the "clubhouse" aka garage while the rain was coming down. The first morning didn't start off so well for us...when I woke up, I went to go outside and noticed that I had a hard time opening the door.  Well come to find out we didn't have the awning as slanted to one side as we should have and it poured over night.  All kinds of rain was puddled in the awning. Not good.  When Patrick tried to release it, it was way heavier than he thought and slipped down and crack! It sort of snapped right in the middle.  Like I said...not good. Who knows how much that will cost to fix. Yikes! Hopefully someday that will be one of those memories that doesn't make you so mad! The day did get better and that night my cousin, cooked a brisket in his smoker.  OMG! That was delicious! I could really go for that right about now!

Saturday was filled with lots of good stuff too! We enjoyed a delicious breakfast cooked by Ron.  Who knew?! :-)  We played wiffle ball, went on a nature walk and saw a little turtle, made candy necklaces, went for a "hayride" pulled by Pop-pop (aka my Uncle Ronnie) on the tractor, the men folk got to shoot guns, another great dinner, smores, and conversation and adult beverages around the fire.

Emma even taught herself how to swing Sunday morning before we had to pack up and go home.  She was so funny back there yelling "wheeeeee" as she would go.  And boy has she come a long way since our first camping trip where she hated to get dirty.  This time she would fall down in the dirt and get up and keep right on going.

What a great trip!  I can't wait to get back there again!

I tried narrowing down the pictures! Shew, was that hard!!
