Y3W: Merry Christmas Everyone!

I am so excited for Christmas to get here!! I love to see the kids reactions to everything!  Tomorrow night we are doing Christmas with Patrick's family, then Sunday morning us and the kids here to do our presents, then off to the cemetery to visit Mom and Kevin, and then to my grandmother's to celebrate with my family.  I'm sure it will be an exhausting couple of days, but I can't wait!!!

I hope everyone has a very Merry Christmas and that Santa brings you everything you asked for!!

Cookies are done!

I finally found a little motivation and got some presents wrapped Monday night! Go me! I felt like I wrapped a ton! But...I hardly made a dent and now I have a couple days left.  I always want to do all the wrapping, but this year I think I may just take Patrick up on his offer to help!

We also got our cookies done Tuesday morning before Patrick went to work.  I know usually people make 15 different dozen kinds of cookies, but not this year, not us.  Why?  The kids really only like to eat chocolate chip and according to Aiden that's Santa's favorite kind, so why would we need to slave away and make more that would eventually just be thrown away?  Not this year.  So we made our two batches of chocolate chip cookies and they are delicious!!!

Mixing it up!
You gotta stick the tongue out when you concentrate!
I don't think he wants my help!
Emma wants to mix!
Stirring
Trying out the new cookie scooper
The best invention ever for Aiden to make cookies with
Scooping out the dough
Our first batch
Tasting his good work
Everyone loves a warm cookie!
This year we got a cookie scooper. Think an ice cream scooper but you squeeze it and it has a little thing that swipes the dough out onto the cookie sheet.  Best thing ever.  Aiden does not like to get his hands dirty. At all when it comes to food.  When baking cookies, he'll help mix the dough up but after that, he's out. He does not want the dough all over his fingers.  With this, both of our hands stayed clean the whole time! Awesome!!

I Can't Get Motivated!!!

I will admit it, I'm one of those people that always finishes my Christmas shopping and wrapping early. Actually my wrapping is always done way before Christmas gets here. And though it's been a few years since we've had to help, I used to always give my in-laws a hard time because they waited until Christmas Eve to get started.

This year?  I CANNOT get motivated to get it done!!  I actually did Patrick's the other day while Emma was napping so that I didn't have to hide them in the closet anymore, but other than that? I haven't done a thing.  You may remember my post about how overboard I went this year. The thought of having to get all that out, bring it downstairs to wrap, and then have to hide it all again makes me never want to get started!

Last night we were actually going to get a few done, but after Patrick started to get things we needed, I remembered that we were just about out of gift tags.  Oh well.  So we didn't do anything afterall.

I can't even get motivated to bake cookies and I get to eat those!!!  I don't know what's going on this year! I'm super excited for Christmas to get here so I can see the kids reactions and give everyone their gifts, but I wish I could hire someone to do all the dirty work for me!!

Maybe tonight those presents will get started.  We'll see...I don't wanna push myself...

Y3W: Another Christmas Tradition

Every year we get the kids into their jammies, drive around, listen to Christmas music, and look at Christmas lights.  I love doing this! I love to hear their reaction to the lights!

This year we tried to start a little earlier so hopefully they would stay awake for the whole trip.
Ready to get started!
Ready for lights!

Let's go!
While we were first out the moon was awesome! I've never seen it so big and it was bright orange.  Aiden was obsessed with it.  While we were trying to show him the lights he would tell us, "Yeah, but I'm looking for the moon!" :-)

Our vote for best house while we were out and about:

Those people put a lot of work into their house and it was beautiful! I would hate to have that electric bill though!

And how our trip ends every year...

Shhhhh....

Em's New Naptime Thing

Almost every day now when Emma takes a nap, this is how I find her when she wakes up:

Every. Time.  Shirt off. And baby doll naked.  I love my little nudist!

*** I wrote this last week and didn't get a chance to post it until now.  Now this week she hasn't been stripping her shirt off, just her babies clothes. :-)

Wordless{ish} Wednesday: Santa came early

Santa came early for me! The other day this is what my fabulous husband surprised me with when he got home from work
Isn't she beautiful?!?! I've wanted another lens that can shoot farther for a while! And now? I have one! Yay!

Here is a picture that I took while I was sitting in the living room and they were all out in the kitchen.

I should have taken the same shot with my regular lens, but the kids would never have stayed put for that long.  Just trust me, they would have looked pretty far away!

I love it! Thanks babe! Love you!!

Our Santa Visit

Sunday we took the kids to see Santa.  I knew Aiden would have no problems since he's been a few times, but I had a feeling Emma wouldn't like him so much.  She doesn't like to go to people she knows sometimes if I'm around.

We decided to wait until after nap time in hopes that Em would be in a fantastic mood. Still didn't help!

As soon as we walked into Santa's house, Emma started freaking out. Yep, just as I expected.

Aiden went first and told Santa that he wanted a talking "Grusty" aka Lightning McQueen and a color changing "Grusty".  Santa acted like he knew exactly what Aiden was talking about. :-)

After Aiden and Santa chatted for a bit, it was Emma's turn. I walked her over and she started to cry again and got the death grip on my arm.  She was not going to go sit with this guy.  She did take 2 candy canes from him and told him "Bye" after she got them. Hahaha

Santa told me to face her away from him and he'd sneak up behind us to get a picture.  Yes, I know my eyes are closed, but the pictures Patrick got are much clearer than the one that Mrs. Claus got with my eyes open.

Hope you have safe travels to our house Santa!

On Saturday we got to celebrate my cousin's not so little boy, Ronnie's (or my nephew as I like to call him), 10th birthday!  I can't believe he's double digits already! If he's getting older, that means I must be too!

I love whenever the family gets together to hang out so I was looking forward to good talks and eats!  And eat I did!! Yummy!
