WW: Summertime Fun

I cannot believe how hot it has gotten the past couple of days.  This summer is gonna be brutal!! We have spent most of our days out back playing in the little pools, trying to keep cool!

And the kids? They have so much fun that I don't even think they noticed that it was about 1000 degrees out!

Baby #3 - 29 Weeks

29 weeks!?!?! Seriously?!?! That means 11 to go, about 3 months until Baby #3 comes.  I cannot believe how quickly this pregnancy is flying by!! I guess chasing around 2 kids at home will make the time go fast because you don't have time to just sit around and just think about your new little one.
I've been having a pretty easy pregnancy thus far and hope that it continues that way.  Toward the end with Emma my blood pressure went up just about every other visit to the doctor and I got sent over to labor and delivery for them to keep an eye on it.  And it's starting to get hot, which surely won't help that either.  Hopefully this time around my blood pressure keeps itself in check, so far, so good.

I'm also starting to get uncomfortable.  I think this baby is already pretty low and likes to hang out on my lower left side.  I swear his or her favorite activity is to take their little foot, knee, elbow, hand (whatever it might be) and just grinds it and rubs it into my hip/pelvis bone.  Not comfy!!  The other day I pushed them away from that spot and they bumped me right back...yup, definitely one of our kids!! :-)

How Far Along: 29 weeks

Total Weight Gain: + 22, Sure to go up again this week after the way I can't seem to get full!

Sleep: So much better now that our air conditioner works upstairs again! Woot! Woot!!

Best Moment This Week:  Spending the entire day with and being spoiled rotten by my husband and kids on Mother's Day, was that even this week? I told you time seems to be flying!

Movement: Oh yes! All the time! I love that Aiden will take time to come put his hand on my belly to feel the baby.  And the smile on his face when he feels it...sigh...

Gender:  We'll find out in July/August!

Labor Signs: Some light cramping here and there, but nothing serious. Hopefully my body just preparing to do what it has to do in 11 weeks

Belly Button: Still in

Cravings: Whatever anyone other than me fixes!

Wedding Rings On or Off: On

What I Miss:  Not having to sit down for awhile on the couch after doing something.  This body is getting tired much faster! :-)

What I am Looking Forward to:  Getting ready for Aiden's birthday party in a few weeks

How Big is Baby:  Over 15 inches (like the size of a butternut squash) and about 2 1/2 lbs

Next Appt: Doctor Visit - May 22nd

My Soccer Star

You may remember that Aiden is playing soccer again this season.  He is still kind of shy and isn't very aggressive.  He still likes to gallop around in the back and not get too close to the ball.  I think he's afraid the other kids might kick him, that he'll make them mad if he takes the ball, and he's nervous he'll make a mistake and everyone will see him.  I hate that he's only just about 5 years old and worries about that all ready, but if you know Patrick and I, clearly, he gets it honestly.

He says he likes playing soccer and I'm happy with that. He did tell Patrick the other day that he likes soccer practice, but not the games because there are other teams there then.  See? He just likes being around the people he already knows.  Sound familiar?

Here's a little video of our soccer star at his last game.  You might need to know he's #6, if you can even tell in the video who that is. It looks so much clearer on my phone! Aiden is toward the back, wandering around with his hands over his head. :-)

Mother's Day 2012

Yesterday was Mother's Day and boy was I spoiled!! First of all Patrick let me sleep in, which really isn't anything new, he gets up with the kids almost every single day so I can get ready before he goes to work.  Sometimes the kids come in and out, but yesterday, he kept them out the entire time. :-)

Once we all got ready we went out to lunch at our favorite restaurant, Nino's.  Oh man, how I wish they would put one of those closer to us, but my waist and wallet probably think it's better that they don't!  From lunch we went to the mall so I could look for some new maternity clothes.  I didn't want to spend a lot because I've only got about 10 weeks to go, but now that it's getting hot, Momma needs something new to wear!!

After shopping for awhile we came home and watched the kids play outside and I got some great gifts from my loves.

Patrick had the kids make these for me.  I'm a sucker for kids' artwork!

The flower pot Aiden painted and decorated for me

The flower pot Emma painted and decorated for me
Then I got this beautiful necklace that matches the ring he got me for Christmas from my hubby.

My fabulous day was topped off with steaks, corn on the cob, and potatoes all grilled to perfection by Patrick.

I told you, I was very spoiled! I can't think of a better way to have spent my day, with those most important to me. <3<3 Thank you Patrick, Aiden, and Emma for showing this mommy just how much you love me! <3<3

Baby #3 - 28 Weeks

How Far Along: 28 weeks

Total Weight Gain: + 22, Don't judge me, we've had a birthday party each weekend to go to the past 2 weekends and another one tomorrow. Plus? I just want to eat All. The. Time!

Sleep: I have a hard time falling asleep some nights.  Could be that our air conditioner is not working upstairs and when it's hot, I can't sleep! Then when I do fall asleep, Emma decides to visit me.  Yeah, I tried sending Patrick to her one night and that didn't go well at all. Apparently, for now, I'm the only one that will do.  So I could use more sleep, but really, who couldn't?

Best Moment This Week:  Finding out I passed my glucose test and all the other bloodwork came back great as well.  (There goes my 3 hour vacation!  Lol! The doctor did tell me that I could lie and tell Patrick I failed and go out shopping for 3 hours instead.  I knew I liked her!)

Movement: All the time! Most of the kicks, punches, and bumps are still pretty low or on my sides. (Which worries me that this baby is not facing the right way yet.)  He or she is getting to be pretty powerful because if you're watching at the right times you can see my belly jumping.

Gender:  We'll find out in July/August!

Labor Signs: Not really. I did have a couple contractions last Saturday when we were getting ready for Emma's birthday party.  I think it was just the stress and working too hard because once I was able to relax they went away.

Belly Button: Still in

Cravings: Sweets, salty, crunchy, you name it!

Wedding Rings On or Off: On

What I Miss:  Margaritas.  We had a bucket of margaritas for Emma's party.  Yeah, I was pretty tore up that I couldn't have any.

What I am Looking Forward to:  More party food tomorrow! :-) It doesn't take much to make a girl happy!

How Big is Baby:  About 14.8 inches (like the size of a Chinese cabbage - seriously! Who came up with these comparisons?!?!) and about 2 1/4 lbs

Emma's 2nd Birthday Party

Emma had a wonderful birthday party this past weekend.  Her birthday is May 5th, which just so happens to fall on Cinco de Mayo.  We thought that it would be a cool idea to have a Cinco de Mayo themed party for her since this will probably be the last year we'll get to choose the theme.

We had a yummy spread of Mexican food, think tacos, taco ring, chips and salsa, taco dip! Yummy! Plus margaritas.  Yes, I was extremely disappointed that I didn't get to take part of those yummy drinks. :-(  That's okay, Patrick told me once this baby is born, he'll get my another bucket. :-)
Emma was a little shy for awhile and probably didn't feel the best.  She suddenly had a fever the night before and it was on and off all weekend long.  What a stinky thing to have for your birthday!  She was a trooper though and had lots of fun!

Here's a few pictures of Emma before she got too shy to run away...

The kids had lots of fun running wild outside and upstairs.  Soon it was time for presents.  Emma had told me that she was gonna open up all her presents.  In fact, when she came in our room that morning and I told her it was her birthday, she yelled and clapped, "Yay presents!!"  She seemed like she might stick to her word at first, but then after seeing all eyes on her, she just sat with Daddy and let him do all the work.

She got lots of cool new toys (which Aiden has approved of as well) and new clothes for summer.  I was very excited about that because she has outgrown everything from last year!

Next up was cake! Emma loves cake! What girl, doesn't?!  She was good until everyone was staring at her and singing.  She was a big girl and stayed by herself in the chair, but she was looking a little uneasy and trying her best to hold in her little tears.  Eating a piece of her yummy cake made that singing all worth it in the end!

After cake, people started making their way out of the party and heading home.  When almost every one was gone Emma relaxed and stripped down to her diaper.  Because, that's how you end parties in our house! Lol!

Each kid got to take home their own sombrero! Ole!!

We all had a great time!  Thanks to everyone who helped us celebrate our sweet girl!!

Happy 2 Years Emma!

Dear Emma,

I can hardly believe that 2 years have flown by since you joined our family.  What a joyous two years it has been!  You are such a smart little girl and have so much of me in you that it's a little scarey! Poor Daddy! :-)  You are learning new things all the time and growing so big!

You LOVE America's Funniest Home Videos! You ask to watch "dideos" no less than 1000 times a day. I can't believe that you'll sit there the entire hour and watch and giggle. And as soon as it's over? "Again!" is what you say.  Nothing can quite hold your attention like dideos. :-)  Some of your other favorite things to watch are Elmo, the Baby Einstein videos, The Letter Factory, and Home Alone (Not sure how that happened, but you'll sit and watch it for awhile before you get up and wander around).  You have Aiden wrapped right around your little finger.  As soon as you ask him to put on a movie, he'll get up and do it, even if he happens to be watching something.  That makes me smile!  He loves you so much!

You love to eat shries (fries), chicken (especially the popcorn chicken from Walmart), roni (macaroni), meat (lunchmeat), cheese, pancakes, yogurt, peas, applesauce, and gummies.  Sure, there are more, but these are the ones you ask for frequently.  One food that you aren't very fond of...ice cream.  What kid doesn't love ice cream?! Emma.  I don't know if its the cold or what, but you make an awfully funny face and immediately spit it out.

You love to color, play outside, play "butterflies" also known as Elefun, read, dress up with your princess shoes, push your shopping cart all around, chase after Aiden, and drag out every toy you can find.  You love to play hide and seek but sometimes get a little confused about how the game works.  When you are supposed to be hiding, you'll lean up against the wall and count instead with the person who's supposed to find you!

Bathtime is still one of your favorite times of the day! You always tell Mommy, "Bye Mommy" and blow me kisses as you go upstairs with Daddy to get one. :)  You're favorite songs are If you're Happy and you Know it, Itsy Bitsy Spider, ABC's, and Wheels on the Bus. You also love LMFAO's Party Rock Anthem & Sexy and I Know It.  You love to randomly burst in song with your rendition of "Rock a bye Baby", it goes "Rock a baby timeeeeee, Rock a baby timeeeee" over and over as you rock back and forth.  :-)

We recently switched you over to your big girl bed.  You were pretty scared at first but now it's been about 2 weeks and you're doing much better!  You'll still wake up and come to visit Mommy and Daddy at least once during the night, but I think that's just because it's so easy for you to get up now.  Most mornings when you wake up now, you don't even come in our room, you go straight to Aiden's room to wake him up so you can play.

I love watching you and Aiden play together.  <3 For the most part, you get along wonderfully and you always need to know where he is or have him with you.  I often hear, "'Mon Aiden" as you wave him in which ever direction you're headed in.  He does tend to make you angry more often now with trying to get whichever toy you have or laying on you for too long.  Now, you're starting to get back at him. Just the other day he made you angry and you grabbed ahold of his cheek and tried to pull it off his face.  Oh baby girl!

I can only wait to see what the next year brings and how much you pick up along the way.  One thing is for sure, we love you very, very much! <3<3

Love,
Mommy

Y3W: Big Bed Update

I knew the day was coming where Emma would need to get out of her crib and into a big girl bed.  Believe me when I say I was not ready for it to happen!  She's always been a great sleeper and only climbed out of her crib a couple of times. I figured if there wasn't a problem, why rush it?

We got Emma's bed from my cousin and it probably sat in the hallway outside of Emma's room for at least a month.  Patrick was ready to put it up the day we brought it home. Me? Nope! I had excuse after excuse, reason after reason.  I don't know why, maybe I feel like that's just the one thing left of them being babies.

With our third baby being due this summer, I knew that we needed the crib for him or her and that we should probably move Emma into the new bed soon just in case it took her awhile to get use it it.  So? I gave Patrick the okay to take down the crib and put up the new bed.
Posing with the crib before it came down
At first, I think Emma was pretty excited.  Though she was a little confused because she would always tell me, "Ava" when we talked about the bed in the hall because it belonged to Ava for so long. She also thought it was pretty cool that it was princess! She was a big helper to Patrick and wanted to carry the pieces in with him.

It was all fun and games while Patrick was putting the bed together...

But...once it was all put together, she didn't want to get on it.  It could have been that she was afraid that I would make her go to sleep if she sat down, I don't know.  Finally (after a while) she sat down so I could get her picture with her new bed.

We were good...until it was bedtime.

She would not get in it.  She kept telling me, "Keddy, Keddy", as in take that damn bed back to Aunt Kelly's and give me my good ole crib back!!  We finally agreed that we would rock for a couple minutes and then she had to get in it, but I would rub her head until she fell asleep.  She was still scared when I laid her down, but for the most part she stayed in it as long as I was next to her.
She looks nervous in these pics
After a few minutes of convincing her to lay still and me rubbing her little head, she fell asleep. Shew!!

Since then she's gone to bed easier, as long as I leave her bedroom door open, which we didn't have to do before and she comes to visit me at least once a night now.  She goes back down pretty easily, as long as you leave that door open.

One thing I really miss is that she was always a really good sleeper, I'm talking 7:30-7:30 (at least) and now she is up and in our room or Aiden's around 6-6:30.  Sigh...There goes the one that we had that was a great sleeper...

So that's how the big girl bed transition went...it's been a big adjustment for us both! :-)
