Baby 3 - 22 Weeks

I had my latest OB appointment on Wednesday morning.  She said everything from my ultrasound looked good and that the bloodwork from my second trimester screening (for Down's) came back good as well.  I had the second trimester screening done because I missed the time frame for the first trimester and it's what I had done with Emma so we trusted it.   I asked how the cyst on my ovary looked (remember I was stressing out because Mom had ovarian cancer) and she looked completely confused.  She reponsed with, I saw that they measured your ovaries and I was wondering why.  I guess that's what they were doing.  UH, she was the one that requested them to scan them again to ease my mind! Don't they look at charts to refresh their memories before they come in to see you?!?!  Anyway, I guess I'll take that as good news because if they saw something scary, she would have seen it and would have had to tell me, so everything was good.

Mario PJs All Around

At Christmas time I saw these Mario pajamas for men and thought they would be a perfect gift to Patrick from Aiden. To say that Aiden is obsessed with Mario, might be an understatement.   I took him back up to Target to show him and he told me that that is what he wanted to get Daddy for Christmas.  He thought it would be pretty cool that they both would have Mario jammies and that they could wear them on the same day.

Fast forward to last weekend or so when Patrick finally straightened up some of his dresser drawers and came across the Mario pajamas.  Aiden had forgotten all about them, but when he saw them, Patrick knew he had to put them on.

Here are my boys in their best Mario pjs...

Awww, look how excited Aiden is.  <3 Melts my heart! <3

Fun Outside

I mentioned yesterday that we were loving the weather last week, which is probably why I was slacking on blogging.  We had lots of fun playing outside and going for walks. The most entertaining thing this play time...bubbles!

Mmmm Popsicle!

I feel like I've fallen behind! I've gotten lazy again and have some posts that I need to catch up on. Which isn't always a bad thing because at least I know I have things to write about this week (if I can make myself it do!)

Emma has never really like extremely cold foods.  She might take a couple bites of ice cream here and there, but you wouldn't want to waste any money buying her her own cup or anything.  Last week, when it was beautiful outside (what happened to that warm, beautiful weather??) we were outside playing and I decided to give Aiden a popsicle.  Emma of course said "I want some," as she says to every and anything you are eating.  I didn't think she'd eat it, but they are the mini popsicles so I decided to give her one.  She loved it!  At first she would put it in her mouth and make a face and act like she was shivering but then she ate the whole thing (and has had a few since!).

Aiden's Growing Up

I cannot believe that my little boy is going to school in the fall.  It just doesn't seem possible that he is going to be turning 5 soon!

Today was the day that I have been dreading for awhile now...I had to take Aiden to register him for Kindergarten.  Honestly, it wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be.  Just a lot of paperwork, and catching up with Mom's friend, Jeannie.  I think it wasn't so bad because Aiden got to leave with me! :-)

I know come August 27th, the new day that I dread...the first day of school, I will be a total wreck.  It's not like Aiden is already in preschool, so I'm used to it.  He is with me day in and day out, 24/7 and then he'll just be gone all day.  Wahhhhhh! Kids aren't supposed to grow up so fast!! :-(

There was another little boy there at the same time getting registered.  When I told Aiden that maybe that little boy would be in the same class as him and they could be friends.  He got a big smile and said, "Yeah! I'm gonna make him be my friend!"  :-)  I think he's gonna be just fine, it's me on the other hand that I worry about.

What I'm Loving

  1. Aiden helping me in the kitchen.  If I have to cut up vegetables for dinner, lately he is right by my side to help by putting them in the big bowl. Maybe some day he'll cook for me!
  2. Emma randomly telling you, "High Shive (five)" with her hand up in the air and then she'll smack your hand with serious conviction!
  3. Maternity jeans...aaaaahhhhh, I can eat and still be comfy!
  4. Aiden comforting Emma when she's upset about something.  He'll run and get her blanket and doggy to see if that helps. And it's always super sweet to hear him telling her not to be sad.
  5. Playdates! These are just about the only things that rescue me from the walls in my house every week.
  6. That Emma randomly goes up to Aiden and pats on his leg or back and says, "Hi Bubby, Hi Bubby"
  7. When Emma puts her little tiara on and announces to the room, "Princess". :-)
  8. My iPhone.  Yes, it was worth waiting for...I love it!
  9. Emma randomly busting into song.  She is currently obsessed with Elmo and his Elmo Song. So randomly she'll bust out with "La, la, la, la, la, la, la, la, _______ Song!  (though it really sounds like Na, na, na, na) This blank could be filled with anything: Baby's Song, Elmo's Song, Puppy's Song.  I love it!

Emma's Favorite Song (at the moment)

Em's newest favorite song is "If you're Happy and you Know it".  Whenever I can get her to sit on the potty for 3 seconds, this is the song we have to sing to get her to sit still. Usually I'm the one that has to the moves, but I love that she's starting to do them now too!  She also usually shouts "Hooray!" really loud (maybe it's because I'm sitting right in front of her while she's on the toilet), but I'm guessing she got a little camera shy here. Plus, if she's not contained to one area, off she goes!  Here's a little video of her and her new favorite song.

Baby #3's Ultrasound

Tuesday morning we went for our anatomy scan and we stuck to our guns and didn't find out if it's a boy or a girl! I'm really excited to hear everyone's guesses throughout the pregnant and honestly I'm shocked that we were able to stay strong!!  When we told us she was about to look a little lower so to look away if we didn't want to see anything, part of me was dying to look! Like I would be able to tell from that fuzzy black and white picture anyway!! Seriously! Am I the only person that says, "Uh huh, yeah I see exactly what you're talking about," when really I see absolutely nothing?!

From what I could tell everything looks good and healthy, not that the ultrasound techs would tell us if they saw something. So I'm gonna think positive until the 28th when I go back for my next ob appointment.  The only thing that makes me nervous is that they were rechecking the cyst she saw on my ovary around 8/9 weeks or so.  Of course they are always stone-faced so I don't know if it looked the same, was gone, or looked bigger.  Hopefully everything looked good and normal!!

The baby's heart rate was 141 bpm and he/she was very wiggly! I think they were trying to show us their best dance moves! He/she was kicking their legs, moving their hands in front of their face, just moving all over the place.  I'm really surprised that I don't feel it a lot more than I think I do.  Maybe I do, but I'm busy with Aiden and Emma so I don't really notice it.

You know how they take pictures of everything and type on the screen to label it whether it's a leg, right heart chamber, spine, etc? Well, I did notice on a couple of those that she typed breech so I'm assuming the baby is breech right now. See I'm a genius! Lol!  I don't really understand how a baby can be breech at 19/20 weeks because aren't they so little, they move all around? Maybe not?  Hopefully this little guy or girl heads in the right direction soon!

And according to the measurements of everything, it puts my due date at August 3rd, which is just what I calculated from my last ultrasound.

Here are the pictures we got of our little one:

Waving hi to the camera!

So what do you think? Boy or girl?  For the record, as of now, both Patrick and I are thinking it's a boy.  :-)
