Easter 2012 Recap

I have a few things to catch up on since I was super lazy after our camping trip (which I also still have to post about). Here's one that I haven't gotten around to writing until now...

Easter was a beautiful day.  The kids got up and we had to check out what Mr. Easter Bunny left them.  Emma had the best reactions.  At almost everything she pulled out of her basket, she was, "Ooooh!", "Wow!", "Look!". Good job Easter Bunny, good job.

After finishing around here it was time to go to the big egg hunt at my Aunt's sister's house.  She goes all out for the kids and we have such a good time.  The Easter Bunny puts out plastic eggs filled with goodies for all the kids.  He uses a specific sticker for each kid so they know which eggs are theirs. Before the hunt starts she reads a letter from the Easter Bunny to let the kids know what they should be looking for.  This year we were sparkly stars and frogs.  Everybody had to find 24 eggs so that bunny must work hard all year long.  And this year we actually found all of our eggs!

From there we went to my grandmother's for Easter dinner where I stuffed myself full of yummy foods!

Like I said it was a beautiful day.  Of course I took a million pictures so I'm trying to narrow it down to just a few of my favorites.

Happy Easter!!!!

This picture didn't go exactly as I had planned.  We went down to the mall with my cousin and her kids to visit the Easter Bunny.  While we were in line, Emma was okay, she would tell the bunny hello, even though it was very quietly.  As we got closer I could tell she was starting to freak out, she started getting the nervous look, her grip starting getting tighter, and she began to tell me "No" when I asked if she was gonna sit with the Easter Bunny.  It probably didn't help that 80% of the kids in front us of were freaking out too when their parents tortured sat them with the bunny.  A lot of parents ended up sitting with the bunny too, myself included.  When it was our turn, Emma screamed and tried her best to wrap her little legs around my neck and wouldn't let go.  I thought about just letting Aiden go see him and keep her with me but looking back at pictures, I think the ones with screaming kids in them are the best! I'm evil, I know. So, I knew she was going to be in it. I tried to be nice and sat as far away from the Easter Bunny as I could and just leaned in for a picture. I don't think Aiden was quite so sure about him either because I looked to the other side of Mr. Bunny and Aiden was as far away from him as he could get.  He did end up scooting over and we got a picture, not the greatest but hey, a memory of Emma being terrified. :-)  After we were done she did tell the bunny bye and Aiden gave him a high five. When I tried to get Emma to give him one she screamed "No" and grabbed ahold of my neck again.  Sorry Easter Bunny, maybe she'll like you after she sees all the goodies you bring her.

And this Patrick Bunny says Happy Easter as well...(and I thought he was supposed to be working...)

Happy Easter everyone!!!

Time to Color the Easter Eggs!

Last night we colored our Easter eggs.  Aiden was very excited to get started, Emma was excited too, but had no idea why.  :-)

Here they are entertaining themselves while Patrick and I get the dye colors ready:
Look, I have my own cup!

Aiden with his surprised look

Emma checking to see if the cups were ready yet

Silly kid, yes I know his pants are on backwards, he's making a fashion come back

While waiting for the tablets to dissolve, Aiden got down to business with the magic crayon.

Finally the egg dye was ready and it was time to drop the eggs in!

And the best part is to check and see what the eggs look like!

We decided the eggs weren't quite done and needed to sit a little while longer so they could be nice and bright! So, Patrick gave the kids a bath while the eggs were changing colors. Once they were done bathing it was time for a quick picture with Mommy and then take the pretty eggs out to dry.

Hello? Is anybody in there??
Here's our finished product...
That blue one is Aiden's art work with the magic crayon

And it's always important to end with a bedtime snack!

We still have stickers to add to the eggs, but that might have to happen today at naptime because Emma will rather put them on her than the eggs!!
