The day after Aiden's birthday party we took our first trip to the beach.
{Don't worry, this was before we knew that Aiden had strep. We totally wouldn't have gone if we knew that was the case...well probably! :)}
We were lucky because the weather was beautiful! Not too hot, but not freezing cold either. However, I thought the water was freezing. Lucky for me, I don't go swimming in that stuff! I just dip the toes!
Aiden and Hunter jumped right in. Aiden only realized he was freezing when he came out of the ocean.
Emma stuck mostly to the sand at first. She liked collecting rocks and shells and playing with Uncle Ron's boat. Eventually she made her way into the water and had a ball splashing around!
I wasn't sure what Aubrey would think. It was her first trip to the beach {outside of my belly anyway}. She didn't seem bothered by it, so that was good. She touched the sand and would occasionally make a run for it toward her daddy who was at the water. She let Patrick put her feet in for a little bit, but once I picked her up, she was not letting us put her feet back in. I can't blame her! Like I said, that water was a bit cold that day!
It was a great first trip to the beach of the season! I can't wait for many more {though I could do without the mess afterwards!}!

Aubrey - 10 Months
I swear I was just writing your 9 month post! Probably because I wrote it a little late! Oops! Time just seems to be flying by!
Here are a few pictures from your 10 month photo shoot. I was thinking that by now, you would get the drill and sit still for at least a few. Nope! You want to get out of the chair almost instantly and now we have to try and stop you from ripping the sticker off your shirt!
See? You're even shocked that your 10 months old now! And here you go, trying to rip that sticker off again...
By this point you had had enough and were outta here!
Yup, that's right! You're walking big girl! I even witnessed you today (now several days ago since that's when I wrote this) stand up without using something like the cabinets, chairs, or couch to help you. Yep, you only pushed off the floor and you were up going after Emma.
Here's a little snip-it of you on the go! (This was just earlier a week or two ago and I swear you're better at it already! And ignore Aiden complaining in the background!)
You are constantly on the go!! You still love to go from one thing you're not supposed to be doing to the next! You can see from the video that you've now discovered the cabinets in the kitchen. Luckily most of the locks from when Aiden was a baby still work, but some don't and I swear you know which ones, because you favor that cabinet! You love to sneak into the bathroom when we forget to shut the door and pull the toilet paper off the roll. Naughty, naughty!! You still love to pull out the magazines or coloring books and try to rip them, try to get ahold of the chalk and eat it, pull everything off the table next to the couch, and dump everything that is in the little kitchen out.
You have started to babble a lot again! A lot of Mama, and you've started back with Dada and occasionally throw the Baba in there! I swear a couple of times you've said "Emma" and Aiden says you've said his name too! If we've got something you want, mainly food, you'll get excited and "grunt" for lack of a better word, and look at the food and then back at us until we'll give you some. You like to point at things now too and wave when I put you to bed or when people are leaving. You've even started blowing kisses occassionally!
You finally have enough hair for a little pigtail! Honestly, you've probably had enough for awhile now, but I just finally attempted one not long ago. You left it alone once it was in there, but you did not like when I was putting it in! You kept shaking your head no at me while I was putting it in. Don't worry, we won't wear one everyday! :-)
We've been working on you picking up your own food and feeding yourself. You didn't want any part of that for a long time. I can't say that I blame you! And surely we didn't help when we would just give it to you to save the time and frustration. You finally did it all by yourself on June 4th! I swear you did it perfectly and then I got the camera out and you had a tricky time.
By the end of the day, you were a pro!! Way to go big girl!!
We're only 4 days into you being 10 months old and look how much you can do already!! I can't wait to see what the rest of this month will bring!!
I love you sweet girl!
Love,
Mommy

Aubrey Loves the Swing
A few weeks ago (April 8th to be exact) we had beautiful weather here! It was up around 80 degrees! I thought it would be a great time to get the baby swing out and let Aubrey test it out for the first time.
She loved to swing when she was a bitty baby, so I thought she would like it. Turns out, she loved it!!

Just listen to these squeals :)
In fact, she loved it so much that she swung (Is that a word? Probably not.) until she fell asleep.
Shhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!! :-)

Aubrey's Getting Big
As of today Miss Aubrey is almost 7 months old. Excuse me, did I really just write a 7?!?!?! I just realized this and now I'm having a mini panic attack. Friday, March 1st, she'll be 7 months. How the hell did that happen already?!?!?
Here's my sweet pea hanging with Mommy as I type this.
Look at those cheeks! Aren't they kissable!? Muah!!
I mentioned that we recently moved her to her crib. It was a pretty poopy start. Feel free to read here if you missed it. Since that day, it's been great! She wakes up earlier than she used to. In fact, the first couple of days she was up at 5:50 am. Yeah, she'd come in have a bottle and eventually pass back out...just in time for the other kids to get up so Mommy & Daddy weren't sleeping anymore.
I'll take having her wake up early over middle of the night waking up any time. She's been great about it. Fusses a little when you put her down and then she's out til morning. When it comes to napping, the morning nap in the crib is about all we get a good stretch of. The afternoon nap doesn't really happen in the crib because without fail when she falls asleep, it's time to pick Aiden up from school.
She also started crawling. She doesn't have it down completely, but she can get to things she wants to. And it's not the army crawl. She'll get up on her hands and knees and sort of launch herself forward, sometimes landing on her pretty little face! Eeeek! Slowly but surely she's starting to stay on her hands and knees and move them forward as she goes. (Here's a little video. It's not long, my phone cut off. Dumb phone! But you get the idea of what she's doing.)
Sunday (Feb. 24) she sat up all by herself! She's been super close for a while now, but she'll get stuck and then get angry. I was sitting next to her when she was doing the trying to sit up by myself pose and I looked at Emma to tell her something. When I turned back around to Aubrey, she was sitting all the way up. Of course she did it when I wasn't looking! Stinker!!
She's getting so big!! Guess I'll be doing another post soon for 7 months! I still can't believe that!!

First Snowfall of 2013
This past weekend we finally got enough snow to play in (maybe an inch, inch and a half?) and it happened to be Aubrey's very first time in the snow as well. The kids, well the older two, were super excited to get out and play in it. Me? All I think of is the 30 minutes of having to bundle them up and then all the mess to clean up afterwards, but they had to go out and they had to go out early before it had the chance of melting! So we all got bundled up and headed out for some fun!
As soon as we got outside, Aiden was off!
And Aubrey was trying to figure out what the heck was going on, but she seemed to like it.
Emma decided right away that she wanted to be the one to pull Aubrey in her sled.
Aiden wanted to have a snowball fight as soon as he saw the first flake fall from the sky, so the boys got right on that.
Aiden then saw that the trampoline was covered with snow!
While he was jumping, it gave me a chance to pull Aubrey in the sled. As you can see, she loved it!
Next it was time for snow angels, or snow princesses if you're Emma. Aiden was too fast for me and was done his by the time I got my camera ready.
I knew Aiden would love the snow, he always does...
but I wasn't so sure how Emma would feel about it. Turns out she loves it too!
Here's to hoping we get just a little more to play in again before the season is over. Afterall, we did go out and buy new boots...

Emma doesn't usually like to get her hands dirty and she thought it was funny that her hands were covered with snow!
It was starting to get really cold and Aubrey started to just stare off into space and not move. Could have been that it was nap time, could have been that she was starting to freeze. I decided that it was time for the little miss and I to head back inside, but before we could go, Aiden wanted his turn to pull her around the yard.
Of course before we went back inside, it was time to get a quick picture of the kids together in the snow. The first several weren't so great because Em wiped her eye with her glove, causing drama because she got snow in her eye. :-) I think we finally got one that will work for our Aubrey's 1st snow/first snow of 2013.I knew Aiden would love the snow, he always does...
