On Friday, Patrick came home from work and informed me that he was taking me out to dinner Saturday night. Yay!! When he told me that the kids weren't coming along, I was pretty surprised. It's not an exaggeration when I say we never go out without the kids! We've got maybe 2 or 3 people that we could ask to watch the kids, but I hate to feel like we are imposing so usually we just bring the kids along or go with take out. Which is fine with me, by the way, because then I can eat in my comfy clothes!! :-)
The last time Patrick and I went out without either one of the kids was probably last winter. Yes. I'm dead serious! I remember wearing a specific sweater and where we went to eat because I had just started Weight Watchers so it was a year ago! And do you know what we did on that date...ate and then went kid free shopping! Kid free shopping is awesome! You actually get to look at stuff and try stuff on without being in a big hurry. So I knew exactly what I wanted to do after dinner this time!
He took me to McGlynn's for dinner and it was so yummy! I seriously think I could have eaten a whole second plate of food! It was snowing pretty hard when we left and I wasn't sure I felt like dealing with being out in the cold anymore, but I couldn't give up kid free shopping at Target! So I sucked it up and off we went.
It was an awesome date night!! Being able to talk to Patrick throughout dinner about things we like to talk about and not having to correct someone every five minutes was awesome! And don't even get me started about having hot food! Heaven!! Then shopping! Sigh...
Thanks babe for the wonderful company and a date right up my alley!
I love you!! Happy Valentine's Day!!

Happy Birthday Jace!!
Today my nephew, Jace, is 6 years old! 6 years!? How the heck did that happened?!
Six years ago, I got a call from my sister, Christy telling me that they were going to admit her to the hospital and she was gonna have the baby. Not surprising to most people when they are expecting a baby, but we weren't expecting his arrival for a little while. It was February and she was due in April! I believe she was about 30, maybe 31 weeks along.
Patrick and I rushed over to the hospital and were able to hang out with Christy for awhile before anyone else got there. She seemed very calm about the whole crazy matter. The reason they needed to deliver Jace was that Christy was suffering from preeclampsia.
They got her all ready and Baby Jace was brought into the world weighing in at 2 lbs, 13 oz. He was SO tiny. I still have pictures, but it's really hard to wrap your head around how small that actually is 6 years later! Jace had to stay in the hospital for a few weeks but he was growing like a champ and was able to go home with just a little monitor that they had to attach to make sure he didn't forget to breathe when sleeping.
Six years later, you would NEVER know that he was a preemie! He is so big!

15 Week Update
How Far Along: 15 weeks
Total Weight Gain: As of my last doctor's visit 0 lbs and I'm not getting back on the scale until I have to go back!!
Stretchmarks: None from this pregnancy, just a couple small ones from Emma
Sleep: Got a new mattress and was hoping for a super, wonderful, comfy night's sleep. Nope, turns out I didn't hate the pillow top as much as I thought I did! This new one is kind of hard! I slept horrible the first couple nights, but now I have 2 pillows and sleep on sort of an incline and now I'm able to sleep much better!
Best Moment This Week: I think I quite possibly have felt the baby moving a few times!
Movement: I think so! That or it's gas...I'll go with it's the baby moving! :-)
Gender: Unknown. I'm still trying to make that decision on whether or not to find out when we can. They should schedule that appointment at my next doctors visit!
Labor Signs: Nope!
Belly Button: Inny
Cravings: Ice, Granny Smith Apples. Things I want nothing to do with: soda, sandwiches, bananas
Wedding Rings On or Off: Still on
What I Miss: Being able to fit into some of my old shirts and pants
What I am Looking Forward to: Feeling the baby move more!
How Big is Baby: About 4 inches or the size of an apple
Next Appt: February 29th

Super Bowl XLVI
On Super Bowl Sunday we had all of my in-laws over to watch the game. They are die hard Pats fans so it was a stressful game to watch and in the end a tough loss. I was just happy to have yummy food. (Hello inner fat girl :-)!) Here are a couple pictures I got before everyone got here. It just gets to crazy to remember to take pictures during the game!

Emma: 21 Months
Dear Emma,
21 Months?!?! That can't be right! Believe me, I went back and recounted several times just to make sure that was right!
Some of my favorite things that you do right now are:
Love,
Mommy
21 Months?!?! That can't be right! Believe me, I went back and recounted several times just to make sure that was right!
Some of my favorite things that you do right now are:
- give your puppy to almost anyone that comes over to sort of break the ice between you (though I think it's just to make sure they don't put their hands on you!)
- If Daddy or I go upstairs to do something you'll announce, "I come! I coming!" and follow us up
- Get the Halloween costume magazine and the One Step Ahead magazine out of the basket and look through it just like you are reading this week's gossip magazine
- If you want people to follow you, you'll turn around and tell them, "C'mon" and wave your chubby little hand at them
- Screaming with excitement and run all around like a crazy person as soon as you hear the garage door opening when Daddy gets home from work!
- Randomly getting the urge to dance when you hear certain songs (ex. I'm Sexy and I Know It). You'll yell "music", "sing", or "dancing" and start breaking it down
- That you actually still like for me to do your hair "pretty". If I ask, you'll tell me yes and run upstairs. When it's done, you have to come and show everyone and tell them "pretty" and rub it which then sometimes leads to it having to be redone again
- Being in love with Elmo. You finally have a little interest in watching a show/movie and you are all about Elmo! You want it to start "sin" aka "again" just as soon as it's over. (I could do without that part, but at least his songs are catchy!)
- Trying to get the Elmo movies out on your own and put them in the DVD player. You already snapped the DVD from Santa when you were too impatient to wait!
- Going in the cabinet and pulling out 64 wipes if I'm in the other room doing something. You'll then leave about 63 of them laying out on the floor and just take 1 to "clean" everything in sight and wipe everything off with it. I guess it's great that you're trying to be helpful. :-)
- Milk, puppy, blanket (we can't leave home without puppy and blanket ever), coloring, Elmo, dancing, going outside, wearing your princess high heels, pushing your babies in your stroller, french fries, Aiden, music, pancakes, Bentley (Aunt Kelly's doggy), babies
Love,
Mommy

Y3W: 14 Weeks Today
I've seen these surveys in a few blogs I read and I think they are a great way to remember how things are going throughout the pregnancy! Here we go!
How Far Along: 14 weeks (according to my count)
Total Weight Gain: Believe it or not, 0 lbs. I'm expecting a 8 lb monthly gain anytime now!
Stretchmarks: None from this pregnancy, just a couple small ones from Emma
Sleep: Pretty good!
Best Moment This Week: Discovering that Extra Spearmint gum helps the nauseous feeling disappear (while I'm chewing it anyway). I'd like to give a shout out to its creators!! Woot! Woot!
Movement: Don't think I've felt anything yet, at least not that I've noticed
Gender: Unknown. I have always thought I would like to keep this one a surprise. We have both a boy and a girl so we have pretty much everything we need. Patrick, my husband, would like to find out as soon as we can. Part of me still wants to keep it a surprise, but part of me is a planner so I just wanna find out. Guess we'll need to make that decision soon!
Labor Signs: Too early to start thinking about that yet!!
Belly Button: Inny
Cravings: Sour Cream and Onion Chips, Tator Tots, Ice
Wedding Rings On or Off: Still on and slightly loose
What I Miss: Being able to fit into some of my old shirts and pants
What I am Looking Forward to: Being able to actually tell I'm pregnant, rather than I just ate a little too much, and feeling this baby move!!!
How Big is Baby: About the size of a lemon
Next Appt: February 29th
Here is where I would include a picture of me but as I'm typing this I'm sitting here in yoga pants and a t-shirt, normally ok, but tonight I decided on ones that I would not put together in public so maybe next time. I still haven't taken a belly picture yet with this baby! I gotta get on it!!

Call Me Crazy
Call me crazy, and I will probably regret saying this, but I kind of want a good snow! Nothing crazy like a blizzard or anything, but a few inches that lasts maybe a day or 2 would be nice.
Don't get me wrong, I have enjoyed the beautiful weather the past 2 days, a lot, but my kids each have boots and snowsuits that fit. I wanna get at least a little use outta them! Plus Aiden LOVES playing in the snow. And I would love to see Emma's reaction to more than just a dusting. Would she love it, hate it, be scared? And you know I love pictures...
February seems to be the month that we get the most snow around here, but today it was about 66 degrees. I know a lot could change by the end of the month so I guess we'll just see...

Wordless Wednesday: 1 Year Ago
Here are my two lovies exactly 1 year ago...
It's hard to believe this was a year ago!! They have both grown SO much!! Sigh...
And yes, they still like to run around in their underwear/diaper! Thank goodness it's been warm enough this winter that Aiden hasn't gotten the red ring around the lips from licking them so much!
